Anyone relocate their parking brake?

I've been off and on, contemplating getting a 'vert RX-7, spritzing it up and using it for a daily driver.. Retiring the Trans Am, and getting a nice tow vehicle instead of my old 'burb.

Anyway, the only thing about my old RX-7 that bugged me was the location of the parking brake. It's absolutely in the worst spot for me and my long *** legs, pokes me. Now, I can pull the brake out, but I really like having a brake, ya know? So have any of you moved it? It doesn't look that hard, just some metal surgery and welding.

PaulC,

Hey you too

Still looking for a cheap convertible shell.

I'm confused on the parking brake. I'm 6'2" and don't have a problem with it. Are you saying the convertible doesn't have the brake in the middle ??

BTW - what's up with your new name. I liked PaulC better.

We're two different people

The parking brake is on the left side of the trans tunnel, and it pokes me in the right leg as I drove the car. Bugged the hell out of me on long trips.

Theres no way that the parking brake should get in the way unless you have the seat way up close to the dash so you have your legs way apart. I sit as comfortably as I want and have never even touched it. How tall are you? Might be different if your 6'8", I dunno.

having a girl get into the pass seat and say "how thought full of you to put a pillow here, normaly this hurts" as she leans over and sticks her head in your lap - Priceless
