Anyone own a 1st gen APEX'i AVC-R?
I am having a ton of trouble with mine. it wont controll the boost at all. I have it set to .50kg/mm^2 and 30% duty cycle. But the thing boosts to ~12psi! I think my problem is in the wireing. the connector that connects the two hanesses from the engine bay to the ecu harness was cut off. so I tried to just match colors. the problem is some of them didnt match up. so I tried it two different ways and only one way would let the thing turn on, so I assumed it was the correct way. I called APEX'i and they told me it has been discontinued for so long no one there knows anything about it. Also the manual for it on their website only tells you what the ecu side of the harness should look like not the connection from the ecu harness to the engine bay harnesses. So, does anyone know the right connections that should be made? or have a picture of their wireing or anything like that? Or am I just setting it up wrong? It was kinda hard to understand the instructions on doing the settings on it. The manual isnt written very well. I think I will tear it back down and take some pics or at least write down what I have connected to what tonight. Thanks alot guys!

I have one.
Yes, the colors do match up.
BTW, what kinda boost does the turbo make WITHOUT the boost controller turned on???
0.5 kg.cm^2 is like 7psi, and no FC turbo with a modded exhaust will boost that low.
Any reason why you want it set so low?

before I put the controller on it was only boosting to about 6psi. I had just the greddy and stock cats and everything so it wasent freeing up any boost really. Now that I passed smog and hooked it up it always runs ~12psi, on or off. (I think I am turning it off...I hold down the select button for 3 secs and some of the lights turn off.) I know the wires match up but you most likely have that plug on the engine harness side of yours, mine is cut off and I dont know what they connected to before that. I want to run lower than 12psi because other than the S-AFC my fuel system is stock. I just dont want to risk it untill I get a fuel pump and maybe some injectors. I will check out my harness tonight and let you know what mine looks like. Thanks for the input so far.
Edit: aw crap, I totally forgot my car is in the shop getting its custom exhaust done. I went outside to check it out and saw that my car was gone and remembered. hah, oh well ill do it tomorrow I guess.

Um, first verify base boost levels.
If the unit is off, then it should be making the same 6psi as before.
If not, the solenoid is connected wrong.
To absolutely confirm the AVC-R is off, pull the harness from the control unit.
This makes sure it's totally off.

make sure you have it set to engine type 2(rotary) If you hold down mode and the down arrow it should say E1 and the if you use the up and down arrows you can adjust to E2 which is rotary. I will go outside and check my ecu connections.
