How did the lexan sun roof look? Was it serviceable?

It was like plexi glass tinted with the fiberglass frame. I did not like it at all. The only reason I bought it was because his description said glass lol. If you go to search and type lexan, you'll see a old thread about them.

Pacific Glass used to make them, but the company is long gone from what I hear. Best bet for those is to lurk the For Sale section daily and hope one pops up and jump on it, or try your luck with a Want To Buy ad. I have one and I can tell you it would take a lot for me to let it go.

Same with Saratoga. I can't remember which came as an option at the dealerships but those are supposedly the ones to have. I just saw one go a few months back for around $400 or 450 + shipping.

Good luck finding one. Just keep an eye out in the FS section, and expect to pay around 400 for it.

The Saratoga ones are more desirable due to the fact that it has no bolt holes.

The Pacific glass one has bolt holes, but you can completely remove it easily like a targa.

You might just wanna find a shitty FC on your local CraigsList with one in it... Take the sunroof and partout the rest of the car.

That's how I got mine; It's an original 1986 Finish Line one... But they were offered Bronze tinted in Lexan and Glass.. This one's Lexan.

Do you still have the lexan part? I might be interested in buying it. I would at least like to look it over to see if it is worth having.

What was the problem with the lexan, was it poorly done or you just didn't like that it was lexan?

Oh.. I got mine running, but it was a rust bucket. Red 1986 GXL with the Finish Line body kit and plexi sunroof...

Got it for $500...

Sold engine for $400
Sold transmission for $100
Manual steering rack for another $100
Logicon for $30
Alternator for $30

Still have parts left over.

Keeping the rare stuff for free essentially.

In my opinion it looked very cheap. It also had some deep scratches.

I do have a Pacific Glass roof, and I was considering taking it to a glass shop and seeing what pricing would be to replicate about 10 of them. If anyone was interested, I would be more apt to setting this idea into motion. Mine's not currently on my car, just being careful with it, so I can easily take it somewhere.

Let me know guys.

I'd be interested if they weren't "rigged up", and be under the current $400.00 + shipping price the existing one's are bringing.

^ Do your research. I believe there was one company trying to do a Carbon Fiber Sunroof but found the whole sunroof thing to be rather tricky the way its implemented. I don't know all the details, or can't even point you to a thread. But it does stick in my mind for some reason.

I had one a saratoga one for a while and LOVED it, it really opened up the interior. I hated parting out my last FC and selling it, it was glass though and heavy.

If I had the means I would fabricate lexan sunroofs all day and sell them on here and make millions and have 20b FC's all over my face.

That being said, somebody make a lexan sunroof and I will buy it, preferably with a 20b FC attached.
