17 x 8/ +20...with the correct bolt pattern...fits sweetly in the back but will protrude about 3/4" in the front.

Oh, those are beautiful! They look just like the convertible's BBSs. To the OP: How much are they going for, and to Rob XX 7: do you know how much these guys charge to rebore the wheels and if that is safe? If the wheels would stick out, buy some fender flares or a wide-body conversion. I know I would pick those wheels up if it was feasible for me to do so.

They wont stick out in the front. I have 17X9 +24 and they are flush in front. The 17X8 +20 would be inside the fender around 9 mm further than my wheel.

About 3/4" inch.
Look at my sig pic.. They are NOT sticking out. 17X9 +24 all around with 235/40/17 in front and 245/25 in the rear in these pictures. I have 235/40s in the back as well now.

Heres another pic. MaczPayne runs the same size wheels, in the same offsets and they fit with 255/40/17s all around on his car.

Dude, you are actually mistaken, +20 will stick out further... The larger the # the more sunken in they are. The less the number the farther from the hub they will be.....

We are talking an 17X8 +20 wheels vs a 17X9 +24 here. Effective offset changes with wheel width. The 9 in wheel is 25.4 MM wider than the 8 in wheel (1 in = 25.4mm). Offset is measured from the center, so on the outboard side, the wheel is only 12mm wider than the 8. The 9 in wheel is offset +4mm more than the 8 in wheel. We take 4 mm from the 12mm difference and the 17X4 +24 sticks out 8-9 mm further than the 8 in wheel would.

Here is a calculator to play around with.

Font, give it up.

The OP asked about 17 x 8's with a +20 offset- which is exactly the wheel I have on my car- and they DO stick out.
Must I go out into the dark rainy night and snap a pic to prove it?

It's not my fault your car is tweaked. They SHOULD fit fine. If yours stick out 3/4 of an inch, mine should stick out over an inch, which they clearly don't as evidenced by my pictures.

No, you don't have to go out and take a picture in the dark rainly night. I believe you.

Must be something wrong with the wheel offset or width that you're mistaken. The 17 x 8 +20 moves the assembly out 1.3" farther, and the 17 x 9" +24 will actually move the assembly out 1.61" from the stock location which would have the tire/wheel o/s the fender as clokker stated. Use the calculator and compare it with stock and you'll see the difference.

It is a standard 17X9 +24 Mustang Cobra wheel. Others run similar wheels with the same offset and they look just like mine.

Actually you are completely wrong. the lower the number, the further the wheel sticks out. Look it up bud. I run a +22 17-9 in the front. You have to pull the fender. Look at the pics in my profile. For instence, In the rear of my car I run a 17-9.5 +38. I ran a 7.5mm spacer which puts it at 30.5mm backspace. I wanted the flush look.
Thanks Robert

You obviously can't read. My wheels are an inch wider than his. Read post 14. Effective offset changes with wheel width.

I have 17X9 +24 all around, with only a fender roll up front

Obviously you don't understand wheel sizing.

LOL. Do the math. You don't even understand what you don't understand.

A 17X9 +24 will stick out further than a 17X8 +20 - Period.
