anyone know how to remove windshield on FC?

I have a good windshield on my 91 parts car and a badly scratched windshield on my 90 GXL which is down right now due to tranny problem..

anyone know how to remove one without cracking it?

called a few places and none will garantee they wont break them. 1 place wants $75, 1 wants $190.

to have it fixed thru insurance(?) would cost me $200.

anyhow. I am not driving the 90 right now but would like to have the windows swapped before I get rid of the 91.

thanks

Mike

I just had to do this.
We used a guitar string (one up from the tiny E string - I think it was like a 0.035").
Take all the trim off - you should be able to see the seam with the sealant.
CAREFULLY, with a small drill bit, drill the corner, away from the glass.
You should be able to push one end of the wire through.
Run the wire around - this should sever the seal.

This is fairly related...

Anyone put one ON by themselves? I'll probably pay someone to do mine... but ya know.. if it's fairly easy... I mean, I rebuilt the engine... dunno how afraid of putting some glue on I can be.

one guy said 'pry it up'

DONT PRY, you will chip and crack the glass in no time. Using a cable of your choice (guitar string, piano wire, bicycle brake cable... etc) use a tiny punch to make a hole in the adhesive then put your cable through. You might want to have 2 people around, you have to push and pull the cable back and forth, sawing through the adhesive around the periphery of the window. After you've covered the whole periphery the glass will lift right out.
