Anyone know of a good column gauge pod??

I don't really want to modify my side pillar with a boost guage and pod. I was thinking of trying to put it on top of the steering column like this.

I got this from rx7store.net but I believe that's for a FD.

Anyone got a good maker of something this close??

Maybe on the side of the gauge cluster like that CF one made by some company?

I might fabb one up if no one sells them.

Maybe cut a bit of a hole to help angle the gauge up to viewing range.

Digi7ech check out www.corksport.com they have some pretty interesting gauge pods for the FC, that mount on top of the stock gauge cluster. Personally I liked the way they looked its different than the usual side pillar mount.

Does anybody know where we can get the center steering wheel gauge pod in this picture? It's from the corksport website but isnt listed as one of their products.

Summit has one that will fit 52mm gauges. I have an Apexi 60mm boost gauge that comes with its own mount just like that. I think the newer Apexi gauges might come with mounts too but I'm not sure.

Just a thought......

If you bought the corresponding plastic piece for the underside of an FD steering column, (from a scrap yard etc) would that fit in an FC?

Then the top piece would mate nicely with the bottom piece. Assuming that the wole thing isn't a lot bigger than the FC setup - it might fit and look alright.

Just a thought.

Not sure about that. There isn't much room between the steering wheel and the gauge cluster cover. I'll try to get a pic up later and show you what I'm talking about. My mechanical boost gauge barely fits between it.

They are different shapes. Ours is more boxy. I had mine off last weekend.
Thanks for the Corksport link. I forgot who made that awesome gauge cluster pod.

That's just a normal gauge pod attached to the column cover. It's a bad location because it blocks to much of the other gauges. It worked well on my HB Cosmo but doesn't on the FC.

I just got one of those pods (Autometer 50mm actually) and screwed it to the A-pillar trim to mount my boost gauge. Looks fine.

I plan to recess the gauge into the column at an angle so it doesn't obstruct too much of my view.

If there isn't enough room I will mold a pod into the side inbetween the cluster and the pillaer where the triangle vent is. It's wasted space and will cover up the broken piece I have there.

It's a vent for for defogging the side window, not wasted space. Works well too.

I assume you don't want a simple bolt-on pod?

I can make this myself. I have fiberglassed before.
I have the steering wheel which has the bottom part so the sexy TVR gauges wouldn't work unless I got a new wheel too.

I'd like the CorkSport copy if it only had one pod on the left. I don't like the Mickey Mouse look of the two pods...
