CA Anyone know gas tank size?

I have a 87 na and my gas meter is messed up. anyone know whats the size of the tank?. lol. i always top it off after about 200-225 miles and i average about 11-12 gallons to put in. is it actually a 18 gallon tank? i had a 85' gsl and that tank was about 15-16 gallons. I wonder if there is much difference.

wow thats a big tank! yea the fuel meter doesnt work so i have to calculate how much fuel i have left according to the miles i put one. the meter is weird b/c when i top it off it shows full but when i drive it and use some gas if goes down to about 7/8 or 3/4 and it just completely drops down.

just a bad spot in the sending unit. Go find a junyard fuel level sender, should be cheap.

Series 4 cars have a 16.6 gallon tank; S5 cars are 18.5. So the OP's 1987 tank would be 16.6 gallons.

If you check the Second Gen FAQ, there are links to the original dealer brochures for each year car and they have this kind of data in them:
