anyone know of any intake mods???

ok so my gxl blew the intake gasgets so im gona be changen them and i was just wondering if there are any intake or like throtle body mods that i can do whille the intake is apart. if anyone hase any sugjestions let me know. i allready have a cold air box as well.

another question i have is that if my air pump is disconected and i have a downpipe with a presilencer in it with the back presure tube for my 5 & 6 ports will they still work properly. iv done lots of reading on them but i cant get a straight answere if i can go with out the air pump. if they will work how do i twll that they are working and since im pulling the intake should i pulll them out and try to clean them. just keep in mind that im not puling the engine to do this. so i am not sure if u can pull them while still in the car. well any help or tips would be great .
thanks

Make sure the coolant line from the rear housing to the TB is in good shape.

The S4 air pump is only used for emmission control & its belt helps turn the fan.

You can T in a vac line with a pressure gauge & blow in it to see if the aux port actuators move and at what pressure.
Then extend the gauge line to where you can see it & go for a test drive to see at what RPM you hit that pressure.

The TB mod is ok when it's all worked out, but it's a pain in the royal ***. I would say it isn't worth what you get out of it. It ruins reliability if you don't retune everything (idle mostly and TPS).

You can however remove the secondary plates only and leave the accelerated warm up and plungers etc. You may notice a slight increase in performance, but not much. It's mostly in your head. You will need a good impact style screw driver to remove the plates. Or you can drill the screws out to remove the plates. BUT don't do that while the TB is still on the car or youll get metal shavings in the engine.

so then ur saying there should be enough back presure in my downpipe to pull open the aux port actuators right. the other question i have is what is the best way to clean the actual ports. i pulled the intake out and pulled the ports out of the housings and the front one is loades with carbon and junk. im not sure what is good to clean em with. i dont want to damage them or the rotors when thay go back in. any suggestions. i was also wondering if tossing a heder on my car would make that much of an improvement over just the stock manifold.

i switched to a na throttle cable.
you could also coat the LIM for lower intake temps
