Anyone have an FD alternator?

I was just wondering because I plan on putting one on whenever I get an electric fan and get the alternator pulley. I would have to get a pulley for an FD alternator then right?

Yes, I have one. NO, you don't use an FD pulley. It is for a serpentine belt (ribbed, not a v-belt.) You can either find one for another car that fits, or drill out the one for the FC alternator. (The alternator on the FD has a larger shaft.) I got one from something else, I dunno what it was from. My website has a writeup. www.geocities.com/rx7_ragtop

Can you use the FD alternator on an FC, I thought there was some sort of connection between the ECU and the alternator on the FD?

I'm pretty sure the FD alternator is the exact same as the 89-91 FC alternator.
