mounting my 18's in a couple weeks
on an n/a. i know the speed will be **** probably. just a street ported motor, intake, open exhaust, jacobs ign. box and a safc. this is my beater anyways. just going for looks with this one. my TII will be the speed demon.
i'll post some pics when they are mounted. going to do some suspension work also. thats about it. then its cosmetic time.

wow people here are talkin about some heavy rims, 40lbs?!?! I like the look a a big rim and if i had the money i'd love it but personaly i think a 16 looks fine and mine only wiegh 17.5 lbs each borbet type S

1/4 is a test of a cars performance while turns are a test of driver performance.
BTW Our cars aren't that slow in the 1/4. We might not have huge HP but we don't have the weight which eats HP.
Now back on topic.
18's are cool but they are only really good for "Show" because the unsprung weight it adds is worse than having the same amount of weight added to inside the car.
I plan on goin with 16's maybe 17's. Right now I'm rocking 15's and loving them.

tires arent light, ya know. thats why i always point out that wheels arent everything. tires are furthest from the center and therefore play an important part. theres a formula behind it, but i dont know it!

Somebody mentioned that painted rims are rice. Does that mean that one set of 18's is cool as long as they are silver, but if they are black or gunmetal they are rice? I like the way darker colored rims look. If I was gonig to be dropping almsot $1000 on rims, I'd want them to look good as well as perform. I can understand it being lame if you spray paint your stock rims lime green or something like that, but I'm a fan of different color rims. ooooo, especially bronze on blue cars..mmmm
