Unhappy Anyone got a tow strap on their FC?

I've just brought one, but after looking at the tow eye i have no idea how it will fit.

It looks more or less like this, any one have any idea?

should be able to bolt on if its the front, just remove the 2 bolts on the front tow hook and slip 1 bolt in the strap. just wondering if its long enough for the strap to stick out?

I've had a look but can't see these 2 bolts, anyone got any pictures. Is the brake ducting in the way? Thought this would be a simple mod lol.

you can't use the tie down hook under the car to tow off a race track, its not very strong, if they pull hard it'll snap the bolts and bend the headlight assembly. its a tie down hook, its meant to keep the car from falling off the boat from japan

if you have an S4 there is a tow hook sticking out of the front bumper

Wtf? Tow straps are commonly used for towing. Same thing as a tow hook.

re read what i wrote! the issue is not strap vs hook, the problem is there is no place to PUT the strap. the tie downs under the car are not strong enough.

I was informed that once i removed the stock tow how that this tow strap could be bolted directly in its place, is this incorrect? To be honest as ghey as it sounds, its really only for show.

Info is appreciated.

If it's only for show, return it and save yourself the headache.

Oh c'mon lol. It can't be that hard can it? Just to remove the stock towing eye to replace it with a strap, don't see many FC's with Tow straps on them and brings a bit more colour to the front end. Does anyone have a picture of the stock towing eye with the brake duct removed?

I miss Winning too, but y'know, it's complicated. I refuse to submit to thought control lol.

As an interesting aside, not on the OP topic, but err, the last tangent before this one, when I went to give blood and they'd changed the form, I ticked "White, Other" on the ethnicity bit. The nurse asked what that was, so I told her I was Cypriot. She said they had to test me for sickle cell anaemia cos they class Cyprus as an African country now.

WTF Never realised I was African. Learn something every day

As to the tow strap, just don't bolt it to the tie-down loops cos they're not really designed to be strong enough to tow the car from. Allegedly. Although my FD's been towed from one without any ill effects

HaHaHa, how can they do this? Cyprus is in the EU, funny. I'll find a way to fit the tow strap when i actually have some patience. I think if i get rid of the stock tow eye is should just bolt in, or is that what your telling me not to do?

Regarding MRC, you should just come back for the comdic moments. Ignore the managment, they hardly really get involved anyway if you swap 'adult' words with amusing replacments. I totally get your point though, but surely you leaving is a message that they can win? And we all know your a winner lol.

the tow strap worked out fine on my s4 when i towed it home behind my truck. long story short my friend freaked out and pulled the e-brake and snaped the tow strap. the only thing that got hurt from that was the tow hook got bent. it never messed up the lights or anything else lolz =)
