Anyone familiar with the Headlight Leveling System.

I am building a Euro Spec RHD S4 FC and I just picked up a Headlight Leveling Switch, which goes in place of the Suspension or Headrest Speaker Switches.. I am trying to get more info on the system as far as what year did they come on and in what country. I am thinking Germany, but I need to know for sure so I can get the correct FSM and wiring diagram without having to buy all of them. Any help is appreciated.

Holy faak never seen one for an FC! I guess the system uses the headlight retractor motors to adjust height?

Sorry, not much help but that's really cool. Do you have the rear bumper fog light? I've only seen a couple FC's in Europe (Portugal), and it was a treat, to say the least.

I have the Euro Tails with the rear fogs built into them, as well as the S4 Euro Rear Fog light switch which is different then our s5 Front Fog light switch.

here is the deal, and unfortunately, you arent going to like it.

German spec cars require the parking lights to be single side, left and right using seperate circuits for the two. As far as the headlights, there where laws against pop up headlights and that they couldnt be fully retracted.

I recall seeing the Headlight Leveling Switch on Ebay Germany once a couple years ago. In all truth, euro-spec specifics are hIGGI's department of expertise. I believe he's got the Euro-spec FSM and wiring diagrams and they would certainly shed some light on the supposed legality of retractable headlights. If they couldn't be fully retracted, the wiring diagram for the headlights and retractor circuit would be noticeably different from the North American and Japanese versions that I have here.

hIGGI, your thoughts? It'd be awesome if you could send me that manual to scan.

This doesn't contribute to the discussion but the first set of S5 tail lights I put on the car were Euro spec lights. They were a little different with the backup spot and all.

Unfortunately they were destroyed the first time the car was rear ended and replaced with a standard (actually in much better condition) set of S5 tail lights.

Headlight leveling came only on EU S5 FC's, no leveling on S4's

Besides switch pictured above there was small stepper motor in the headlight housing.
I will scan the part of the wiring diagram eventually and post it here.
