I raced one of the White ones, he had a stock exhaust at least, maybe a intake judging by the roar of the Vtec. Anywyas, I had no 5&6 ports sleeves, a half assed ported engine (long story, be carefull MD\DC\VA guys), RB headers & pre silencer, HKS catback and filter.

We went at it in third gear and he pulled about 3-4 cars instantly, pretty much the same lead till I stop trying in the top of 4th gear.

He was alone and I had 3 other persons in my car........pretty stupid by my side if you ask me now

I raced a yellow TypeR Integra in my mum's Acura 3.2TL (automatic). From a 40mph roll to 120, dead even. I then raced him the next week from a stop and he just pulled away until about 45mph, when neither of us gained on the other.

I wish I could find him when I am in my Rex

well this guy has a real type R. its a 2001, and they only made those in black and yellow here in the states. he has intake, headers, catback. he hits vtec and around 5k rpms and it hurts your ears. and those pull pretty good in 3rd gear (like a 300zxTT) everyone he races is usually about equal to him til he vtecs 3rd gear then he usually pulls ahead. do you all think i could hang with him in my T2 with basic mods?

I'm pretty sure they came in Championship White here in the good ol usa.
I could be wrong. Not a 4 banger enthusiast.

Anyway, there was a Championship White Type R at the last autoX and I kicked his ***. Last year, I went to a track day at Summit Point and a fully modded (not streetable) yellow R kicked my *** up and down the track.

Yes the Yellow and black ones are the new ones, the old ones are the white ones.

They are VERY good at auto X, faster than the FC NA

Possibly he needed a new driver. I don't think he knew where the hell he was going. You'd be surprised how fast a NA fc can be

Damn right! The last auto-x I went to the guy was only running a race pipe and sticky tires and RB sway bar in his '91 coupe and he got 36.2x and the 320RWHP FD there could only muster up a 36.6x

I pitwork for one of my peers at work (actually he is almost my boss). He race in the ITS class on a 88 NA with a 91 engine internals. I can say that on the 75% of all races, he is the fastest driver on a RX7, BMW 325 always takes the first\secod\etc place, then the GSR, and then the FC.

I know its a matter of drivers, but the GSR is the one that competes with the FC on ITS, not the Type R which has 25 extra hp.

Let's be real here......

some people need driving school LOL

me and my friend race at a drag strip, he has a 97 white type R, the hp has not change since they been making them, at the time i had a 87 turbo with a fcd, custom intake, exhaust. he had a exhaust, intake, and a v tec controller.
my 87 turbo ran a 14.0 1/4 mile
his 97 type R ran a 15.6 1.4 mile

When I had my WRX I raced a couple modified (suspension) ITR's on road courses. They're quick, but I wasn't really impressed. The car that did surprise me was the RSX Type-S, definitely not a slouch.

Well, I'll tell what, Since you are in VA, I'm sure you can attend the next races at VIR. You'll see it with your own eyes; Or we can schedule a friendly race (on a track), if I beat you you'll know you don't stand a chance against a Type R, If you do beat me by 3-4 cars.........I'll be the first one to claim that your car is fast

SoulAssasin, if I had your setup I'd still race him...I'd just stick my head out the window and laugh the entire time Type R's are nicely balanced cars if it wasn't for the buzzy engine...I think a well tuned NA w/ quality suspension pieces is the rear drive equivalent...a quick, raw NA performer.

The ITR's a good car. 1.8 liter engine and still getting about 195hp isnt too bad. Even with its FF handicap its still a great handler. Dre, I think I mentioned this earlier but I raced my friends ITR and we came out pretty close. I have an 87, only "mods" are :TB mod, removed ACV, back seats, air pump, CS Catback, no p/w, p/s, p/l.

I realize this is long but please read it all...I have some "proof" numbers for ya.

As I said before, last time I went to a full track was last year at Summit Point and a type R kicked my *** (badly).
Also as I said before, I kicked a Type Rs *** at an autoX (probably due to his sorry driving).

I see I may have heated you up a bit with my cool paintbrush job, and I would love to run against you, but I have no plans (this year) to go to VIR. If you would like, you could go to a VMSC autoX and we could duel. I will enjoy it whether I beat you or not! Check out www.vmsc.org and see if you can make the next one.

By no means do I consider my car to be extremely fast or anything. After going to a few autoXing events , I've realized that pretty much any car can kick my (and your) ***.
E.G. I remember F.T.D. being set by a 80s Honda Civic wagon looking hatchback among vette's, S2000s, BMWs, Mercedes, and other high class cars.

Oh! how bout the results from the AutoX I was talking about?

This is the street tire class (25 cars)
T1 Henry McGovern WRX 52.610+1
T2 Pasha Paterson Golf 56.644
T3 Chris Liesfeld Mr2 56.165
T4 Ryan Bradfield Integra Type R 57.696

Pretty good. First time I think, stock TypeR.

This is CSP, my class (6 cars)
T1 Beno Rubin Civic Si 50.686
T2 Zach McAfee Rx-7 52.653

Thats right. Beat by a 80s civic. But he had slicks while I have street tires.

The ball is in your court.

Not related, but you can see how unfair the WRX is in its class. His competitor is 4 seconds behind! That's a car I wouldn't mind having.

All the same, the WRX doesn't "feel" like an autocross car... IMO the WRX is better suited for being tossed sideways over blind crests in the dirt (same goes for my Corolla )

Sideways = good!

I hear ya.
At the last autoX a guy in a WRX(?) wagon tossed his car in a perfect controlled slide in a hard braking zone. I loved it! Beautiful!

And heres a shot of the Type R, to whom it may concern:

Pretty good looking, almost looks like an RX-7
