Anyone ever broken a RP FCD?

It worked fine when I bought it, but now it puts out 12v where the signal wire is supposed to be coming from. And theres silicone over the circut board so I cant fix it. Anyone ever had one of these short out on them? What did you do?

Never broke one. Your saying the brown/red wire has 12v on it??
1. Black/white wire.....power wire, 12v
2. Brown/red wire.......b/t 1-4volts.Signal to the ECU.
3. Pure black(early models brown/black)....ground.
4. Brown/black.....reference voltage of approx 5v

Only time I have seen a broken one was when the ECU was bad and smoked it, or it was the wrong series FCD for the wrong series car (like a s4 FCD used on a S5 car).
