Any idea what wire this is? (longshot)

allrighty, so i found this wire on the inside of my engine bay today when i was in the process of pulling my engine (drivers side engine bay), i was curious because i'm unable to find the other 2 parts of the wire as to where it was located before so i'm curious if anybody knows or has any idea what wire this could be part of? i'm assuming it's a ground wire because it's black but i've attached a pic to see if any of you gurus know where it could have come from.

thanks much,
Matt

Looks like regular 600v house lamp wiring, lol...

I think maybe a previous owner had a "home project" going on there...

Like buying a couch and finding quaters stuck inbetween the cushions... so many quarters, they paid for the couch

you guys are a ton of help! lol thanks anyway, i'll just figure it out when i pull out the motor this afternoon and search the engine bay myself in great detail. in a way i'm hoping it's a wire connected to the oiling system in somehow so that is the reason why my engine may have gotten fouled up with way way too much oil.

again thanks,
Matt

That looks very very familiar from my rebuild. I'll look through some pics real quick and see if I can find it.

[edit] Sorry.. Can't find it. Looks like one of my battery cables- except its a little too thin. :
