My defrost vents are not working well, anybody have any pictures of how to get to them or charts of where they come from?

please note the sarcasem
heres a few things to you should know about taking apart your dash
1. the little scew on the top in the centerline of your dash below the defrost vent is a PITA to get out unles you have one of thoes bent screwdriver things, or you can be like my friend and use a torch to heatup and bend a phillips head screwdriver, makes life easyer, when done.. bend it back
2, the harness that connects the heater/ac/fan controls to the dash harness is bolted to the firewall, its a bitch to reach, once you get the dash unbolted, you will beable to move it aobut 3 inches back before you run out of harness... have a friend handy to reach over the dash and unplug that for you
3. have fun getting the dash over your shifter, the first time i took out a dash i was lucky, i had pulled my tranny, so this wasnt aproblem, but second time it fought back... but it IS possible
i recommend flipping though the haynes manual, it shows where all the bolts are, there are 7 if im correct... 2 on each side of the tranny channel, and one on each end, open doors to get at em easyer, and that bastard one on the top, there might be more though
have fun,

I tried messing around with the dash but those plastic pieces are just gonna break. Can I take off just the defrost vents? The driver side is the one giving me the trouble and it looks like the vin number is bolted through the piece to the dash. It literally takes 20 min to defrost the car.
