Any advice for one going to look at a TII?
Hello all,
There is this FC TII that I see sitting in my neighborhood when I drive to/from work.
Im very inclined to walk over and ask them if they would be interested in selling it.
Do you guys have any advice on what to look at specificaly for the car?
THere appears to be no rust on the body, and if Im serious in buying, I will have a compression test done.
Im looking for a fun/track car to screw around with on free time.
TIA
Scott
PS. I've looked through this site http://www.aaroncake.net/RX-7/buy2.htm. It has been very helpful, but was hoping for some first hand info from you guys.

First off, take it out for a drive and make sure it boosts properly and drives perfect. Next do a compression check. Check for things like dents, take a peek under the car. If there's no rust on the body it sounds like its taken very good care of.
Read the ***, lots to read in there.

It had some very helpful information.
I come from an Audi S4 background and just know that there are some finicky items directly related to that car, so thought maybe i could get some 1st hand knowledge from you guys about the FC

Your q is backwards lol, and like this guy said test drive, i would also suggest checking under the hood to look for any suspicious looking wiring, dont want anything wired around, and ask any and all questons that come to your mind, people can be real dumb, the guy i got my car from took the t-stat out because someone told him it would keep his engine cooler and make it faster, the engine promptly started to overheat all the time because it caused hot spots and clogged some coolant passages

if you go to drive the car, make sure its not already warmed up. ask the owner not to warm it up before you get there. every time i have heard of someone buying a car that was already warm, there have been problems. My TII was warmed up already and running when i got there. turned out the owner was hiding a cracked seal or two. as someone already stated, if you can, compression test!

Oh well ...
I just stopped by the house and it belongs to one of the kids. He said it has a blown coolant seal and thats why I've been seeing it sit there everyday.
He said he was planning on rebuilding and that he would call me if he was interested in selling
