Antifreeze: Green or Pink? Which do Rotaries like better?
Yo,
I'm about to flush my radiator today, and have a bottle of the new Pink stuff. Longer lasting, yadda yadda. How do rotaries like the pink stuff?
Any bad experiences?
Thanks!

I've heard bad stuff about the orange / pink stuff like it leaves residue when someone rebuilt there motor, it was pretty bad. I say if your going to flush it every year use the normal stuff, especially on the "S"

Green Green Green.
There were some real ugly stories (pre-hack) about people using the orange stuff in rotaries. It's not intended for some of the seals, gaskets, metals, etc in the rotary. Stay away from the orange unless you want to invest in a motor.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
Prestone brand 50/50 mix with distilled water ONLY.
Do not use the "safe" and "enviromentally clean" anti-frezzes, they do not have safe amounts of anti-corrosion additives that a rotary requires.

Yo,
Dammit, I hope you guys are satisfied! I went to a local store and bought some Peak green antifreeze. Opened it to make sure it's the green stuff. Came inside, read the Forum. Prestone, it's got to be Prestone! So what do I do? I go out and buy ANOTHER gallon of antifreeze, Prestone. You happy?!
*grin* Just kidding, thanks for the heads up. I haven't flushed my radiator in...a couple years. Remember though, I don't drive it alot. Hopefully I will not hear that I have ruined my engine.
*chuckle*
Thanks again!

The reason the orange stuff leaves a residue because the person who flushed the coolant system didn't do a complete job and there was some glycol left in the system. There is something in the orange stuff that don't mix well with glycol and leaves a residue after while. Just stick to whatever you we're running.

Just to let you know
Ok...........I just want to let you know if you mix the two coolants pink(sometimes called DEX-COOL) and the Green stuff them you will have a GEL in your motor after a while when these two coolants are mixed they GEL in the motor THUS (I like that word) needing a new motor. You MIGHT have some luck trying to pressurize the system and flushing BUT most of the times it calls for a rebuild.
