anti-lock brake light came on last night
as mentioned in the subject, my anti-lock brake light came on last night.....
i searched the forum and the archive but nothing came up....
(if you dont believe me search anti-lock brake light)
my e brake light has been on for a while now...
i plan on bleeding the brakes and putting in some new fluid....which will hopefully take off the e brake light, but i was just wondering what the antilock brake light was referring to, and if the bleeding process would take care of it too......
it came on last night, and this morning when i started it up to go to work it didnt come on....it didnt come on at lunch either....
why would it just come on all of a sudden....
is there anything i need to watch out for or anything...
ie...sudden stops and stiz-nuff....
thanks for any help in advance...

If the ABS goes through it's diagnostic cycle when the car reaches 3/4 mph, and no ABS light comes on, I'll take a wild guess it could be one of the wheel sensors. The brakes will continue to function normally, even if ABS light on. If under heavy braking, the tires loose traction, the ABS might not react properly. A lot of tests could be made with Mazda ABS tester, or an ohm meter checking for continuity and also voltage while turning the wheels. Just make sure sensors are clean, and adjusted properly.

Mines been on for about 6 months LOL... I think I did something to the rear sensors when I did the toe bushings. I don't wana take it to a mazda dealer and I don't really care about it so I just pulled the fuse out LOL... some day I'll either fix it our remove it.
