Antenna Masts

My atnenna is broken off on my 87 TII, the motor still works becouse i can hear it when i turn the radio on and off. So can i just replace the antenna masts with out removing the whole power unit from the car. If so any tips on how to do it. Thanks BTW where can i get the masts that will work on my car.

I found it easier to remove the cover wheel, feed the antenna in, and coild it by hand. I never got it rigth when i followed mazdatrix's direction of feeding it in while the motor is on.

Atleast they have a sense of humour
