MO Another Wheel Fitment Thread

Hey, yep you all hate these. And yes I've looked through like the first 20 pages of the "official wheel fitment" thread and using the web browser's search function. That's how I was able to come to the original conclusion I came too. But I ordered a set of Enkei Tenjin wheels, but got a phone call from the company I ordered the wheels from saying that Enkei informed them these wheels might not fit the car since it's not a factory fit, and they didn't want me to waste time and money if it were not to work on my behalf.

Now that's the key word, "factory fit"so I went ahead with the purchase anyways. But I'm doubting myself and am asking you guys for your assistance. Will my wheels fit?

1986 RX7 Sport, I do have coilovers installed, but fenders are factory not rolled or modified any.

Wheels: Enkei Tenjin.

Front: 17x8 +35 225/45R17 Nitto NT05
Rear: 17x9 +35 255/40R17 Nitto NT05

I've read some people have used these wheel sizes before without issue, but I'm second guessing myself and needing confirmation. Thanks

I don't think you're going to be able to fit that setup without rolling/pulling your fenders and quarters, depending on how low you're trying to go.

My 17" setup is as follows
17x8 +17 225/45R17
17x9 +22 265/40R17

I'm pretty slammed but my fenders and quarters were pulled and rolled already from my 18" setup. I'd suggest having a roll done, then having a slight pull done if it still rubs.

NOTE: I'm pretty sure you won't have this problem but I had inner barrel clearance issues on my 10 and 11 wide wheels with a similar offset. You probably won't have this issue seeing as how thats a whole 2" wider than what you're running but it's something to look out for.

I really thought they would fit without much issue if any at all, my current wheels are a 16x7 +40 with 225/50R16 all the way around. So that means the front lip of the wheel will be 5mm closer to the fender with a 17x8 +35 in the front, and there is much more room in the rear so figured a 17x9 +35 would be fine in the rear. Or am I think of it backwards?

You're on the right track in terms of fender clearance calculation, you just forgot about the extra inch of width! So the lip would actually be 17.7mm closer to the fender.

Anyway, I fit my wheel/tire combo which is pretty similar to yours but with lower offset. So it should be okay

Cool thanks for the reassurance everybody! If anything I'll roll/pull the fenders I have no problem doing that since I do have the proper tools to do so.

I just bought a set of wheels,17x8.5 with a 31 offset. They came with 225-55 tires and the only issue was at full steering lock when they hit the front wheel wells.

Oh and my cars all stock,S4 turbo if that helps

Yeah I have racing beat lowering springs to install soon so I'll probably try a 225-45 tire, fhe 225-50 doesn't rub the outer fender at all. The wheel it's self clears everything fine.
