ok i hate to ask but i've been searching for an hour and i still have no real answer.

i'm doing reliability mods on my car now and i want to replace all the vacuum lines on my 89 n/a so first i can't find the diagram. second is that based on my research the fd has about 30 feet more of vacuum lines compared to the fc is that true or is that false cause there is this kit of ebay

vacuum hose kit of ebay

its from spectre not just some ebay crap. is that enough hose

If you're confident that the existing lines are connected to the right places then all you need to do is replace one hose at a time until you're done as opposed to removing them all and having to rely on a diagram.

according to mazdatrix
you'll need 13ft of 3.5 mm hose and 6ft of 6mm hose.

Silicone hoses are best when there is a clamp used as they are quite slippery. You could go to a auto parts store and pick up the smallest hosing and I purchased about 15 feet just in case. The size was 5/32 inner diameter. My car is an N/A.

^ +1. There really isn't as much as it sounds like. by the time you go through all of the engine, you'll be surprised at how fast the vac line goes.

Me, personally, I thin I have a accumulative total of maybe 10' of hose? the longest being to the boost-gauge.

And yes. The FD has a kaBILLION more feet of line than the FC... Damned redundant sequential solenoid center under the UIM....

My FD now only has 5 vac lines... My FC? 3.

thanks guys. You always come through for me!

and would you guys go with spectre silicone hoses 2 kits is 16$ + s/h compared to mazdatrix 75$ +s/h. I paid 3$ for about 21ft of rubberhoses from an autoparts store last time so yes 75$ seems like a lot. Although I did get a major discount from the worker.

spectre is pretty bad. compare it to Hose Techniques and you'll understand. Spectre is carried by Pep Boys and is no better than just buying the rubber hose they sell behind the counter.

BUT... if you don't have a turbo car, I don't think it matters too much. It's not like you need this hose to last 100k and a gazillion heat cycles
