Another Timing Question
Another Timing Question
My timing light does not seem to work on the RX7. Is there a way to set the timing without using a timing light on an S5 NA? Could someone please give me a "How to" or a link?
Yes I searched and read the FSM.
Thanks

Since you read the FSM then you know how to aling the front pulley with the fixed pointer.
Do that then take the black cover off the cas.
Turn the body of the cas til the two pointers on top of the cas gear point to where they just cut the edge of the black coil like assys where I pointed to with a blue line in the attached jpg.
Then bolt the cas down and start the engine. The timing will be almost right on withing five degrees anyway.
What's with the timing light? Flickers????? Only seems to flash every so often? Then reverse the clamp of the timing light (the clamp on the lead wire ) to face the opposite direction. The light should flash more consistently then.
Don't bother looking at the trail It's a waste of time. Just the Lead wire(s). One of the lead wires is all you need to use. Both fire at the same time.
