Another starts but won't run issue.

I had a bad fuel leak under the UIM. The car ran great, idled smooth at 850RPm's. I replaced the fuel lines and one crusty vacuum line and now it won't run after reinstalling the UIM. I have checked all the vacuum connections and they all seem OK. All electrical connections are connected.
The car starts and dies after about 5 seconds. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

My starts and dies problem was bad fuel pump. Make sure fuel pump is running and stays running

I pulled the AFM apart and inspected it for cracks and the measuring plates worked smoothly. I tested the resistance of the terminals per FSM specs and they tested normal.
Now when I start it I can keep it running if I press the gas pedal a little bit. The fuel pump is about a year old and when the gas line I replaced split it sprayed pretty good so I don't think fuel pressure is the issue?
I'm going to mess with it again tonight after work.

A car which starts and then dies immediately or can only run if you fight it points to a vacuum leak.

That it does. I'm going to stop and get a can of carb cleaner and see if I can find any leaks. I looked at all the vacuum lines last night and didn't see any disconnected.

So I used a can of carb cleaner to detect a leak. Friend held the RPM's at 1200 with the gas pedal. Found a jump in RPM's when I sprayed a shot near where the UIM gasket is. Going to remove the UIM this weekend and try again.

You were right Satch. When I got a new UIM gasket at the Mazda dealer one of the mechanics told me that I didn't need sealer with the gasket. Boy was he wrong.
When I sprayed a little carb cleaner near the UIM mount the car would blip a little on the RPM's. I took it apart, used some Honda Bond on it and now it runs perfect.
Car idles at 850 rpms, smooth as hell. Thanks for the help.
