Another one of the 'will these wheels fit' threads

Can someone explain offset and size to me? I've never been 100% positive.

Just picked up Vosko's MS01s. I can get spacers if i need em but I was curious if these would fit.

17x 8 1/2 with +40 offset
17x 9 1/2 with +38 offset

I wont have em on the car for a while so I was just curious... thanks!

Well, the rear ones *might* fit. But they will be sunken in Id think. Stock offset is 40mm for a FC, and thats with a 6-7" wheel. With the 9.5" wheel and only 2 more mm of clearance, Id think you will have seom rubbing issues. Same with up front, where you have less room to work with. Maybe 25mm might be too much though...so better wait until someone else chimes in. Im far from a wheel expert...

someone should make a list of what width wheels need to be a certain offset inorder to fit without spacer/adapter.

Check the suspension forum. We've got a thread going there just for that purpose. Nobody seems to remember to look there though.

If you used the search, it's been talked about for at least couple years.

You will need spacers in the front, unless you stretch some skinny *** tires on those rims. I'm sure you don't plan on doing that.

The rears might be okay, but it will be tight. You will be very close to suspension/subframe crap. Tire size also comes into play on the back.

I'm running 17x8 +38 w/235/45's in the front, and the tire is just about rubbing the spring perch. I'd like to throw some spacers on there, but I'm waiting to fit my Corksport fenders and lower the car before I do that.

In the rear I'm running 17x9 +35 w/255/40's. They are just about flush with the fenders and fairly close on the inside. I have a little more room to play with in the rear, which makes me think your rears might fit without spacers.

BTW, those rims are sick and I can't wait to see them on your car!

Stock FC wheels are 16" x 7" +40.
Stock FD wheels are 16" x 8" +50.
The tires are almost the same, 205/55/16 for FC and 225/50/16 for FD.

Just by the wheels, the FD rims sit almost 1" deeper.
This is significant.
