They're aren't cheap... and if properly designed work better since you get fresh air to both the IC and radiator.

The design picture above missed the boat on the way they are supposed to work. The aero aspect of that one is all wrong.

i have no idea, and as far as the layup goes I use two layers of mat and then a layer of cloth.

update: I moved the vent up a little bit, it doesnt dip down as much as I forgot about the ol' strut tower brace...more pics when i get it done.....

That pic looks like an NPR IC to me, all the Starion ICs I have seen are tiny.

V-mount for an FC could be very cheap since you have to make it yourself. For my H-mount it was under $200 for the new huge Griffin radiator, way under $200 for the junkyard NPR IC and all the piping was scrounged from the junkyard and sold by weight.

My biggest expense was the fiberglass reinforced silicone hose and T-bolt clamps- but you could cheap out on those.

Anyways, back to the subject of the hood...

It looks GREAT for my purposes! I agree this is the best design yet. Thanks for keeping at it Dltreezan.

Looking for an attractive AND lightweight alternative to my stock FC's hood. How much does your hood weigh, or is it still being constructed and therefore do not know. Also, are you considering other designs? I have a few I'd like to bounce off someone.

it weighs around 20 lbs +- 2 lbs. And i want to do the kit in my avatar but i havn been able to get ahold of the original and it will be a while because i am moving to north caroline in the middle of july and setting up shop there.
