another no tail light question

another no tail light question

did a search also read stickys. 89 burned light harness and switch ,changed out for good ones of another 89. still no running lights or tails. CPU?.... I do have headlights but up down function not working , also have turn signals, brake lights ,and back up lights so all lights are hot. cpu or ground? wires look good on replacemnet harness and replacement switch...driving me crazy, please help!

Check the 15A ILLUM fuse in the cabin fuse box. The taillights are not controlled by the CPU. If the fuse is okay the switch is the most likely culprit. Look at the colour of the wires at the taillight bulbs and see if there's power at that colour wire at the switch when you turn them on.
I do have headlights but up down function not working...
Check the 30A RETRACTOR fuse in the engine bay fuse box.

IF it is the Ilum fuse, and it keeps blowing, you have a bad ground somewhere unfortunatly, and it will be a bitch to locate.

yep, ilum fuse was blown, put two more in and each one blew. Thanks guys for the help. I will keep you posted if i find it and where.

Mine was back behind the radio area somewhere, because i pulled my dash, and forgot to screw one of the grounds back down , have you pulled ur dash or done any kind of electrical installation? or anything like that at all?
