Another: "My car wont start after rebuild" thread

I dont know wtf is wrong with this thing, I can crank and crank all day....I pull the egi fuses... crank crank....put em back in... then to crank crank somemore.

I hate it!! After I pull then put back in the EGI fuses it sounds like its gonna catch.. but never does.

I put in 350ml in a about 5/8th a tank. Is that too much?

Someone give me some advise please.. something that helped them, Anything!!!

Notmuch info there with all of the pleading, lol. Are you flooding her? What do the plugs look like? Checked for spark yet? How close do you think you got the timing when the CAS was reinstalled? Hear the main relay clicking? Remember to connect the AFM's plug? Got the fuel lines crossed? Put a new fuel filter in backwards? Want me to go on???

No everything is hooked up (I think)
When Maxthe7man was over he adjusted the CAS and said its "roughly set"'

The funny thing is it ran for like..... 10 seconds... but it sounded bad (it only has a stock DP lol..) so i got scared and shut it off

Wont start since

****, you flooded her then, man...Pull the plugs, dry 'em off, inject a little engine oil into the leading plug holes, turn the engine once over by hand, reinstall the plugs, mash the pedal to the floor, and crank her 'till she starts (don't go any longer than 8 to 10 seconds on the starter every 5 minutes or so)

Huh? Turn it over once by hand? You mean with a wrench? there is no room! lol

Why mash the pedal to the floor? Isnt that the unflooding procedure in a S5? I have an S4.

Ohh and Also... I read in my haynes but it dosnt CLEARLY state how to install plug wires. Can you make me a diagram using PAINT program lol.

plug wires? the leading plugs are the bottom ones, and they both fire off at the same time, so they connect to the double-coil nearer to the front of the engine.

As wayne said, inject a little 10w30 into the leading(lower) plug holes, turn by hand..I just grabbed the powersteering belt and pulled heh, then try starting it....and if it floods again roll start it, that always works for me whenever I flood Also, it will SMOKE like a bitch when it finally fires...but that'll go away eventually you may just need to help it keep an idle with your foot =)

Well you can check spark by pulling the CAS and plug wires out and turning the gear on the CAS.

OK, sorry man, I didn't go into a lot of detail there. Get a 3/4" or 19mm deep well socket, and a 1/2" breaker bar (or a big 3/8" ratchet), put it on the front bolt (in the middle of the main pulley), and turn the engine clockwise (looking from the front). This will disperse the oil inside the engine, and help the compression immensely when trying to start after a flood. I've got an S4 too. Trust me, mash the peddle to the floor until she starts, and then feather it to keep her running until she's all better again

you should know, that even with everything hooked up, a fresh rebuild takes about 1k miles to break in. you may have to tow start it, once youve dealt with the flooding problem. once you start it, it WILL run like crap, but as long as the combustion chamber is lubricated, you dont have much to worry about. get it to start, then just drive it, very modestly for awhile, then slowly bring it up and up to speed. this will take a few weeks of driving.

This is really getting to me, it wont ****** start. It been at my buddies house for over a month now. I need to go home (tommorow's my 18th birthday)

I tried the oil in lower plug holes.... didnt work. How much oil am I suppose to use? I put in about a cap of a 1L oil jug. It sounds SOOOO damb close to catching.

What else can I try? I want to go home, and im soo tired of working on my car.

You can also unflood the car by taking the leading plugs out, and pulling the Fuel pump fuse and cranking the car over for about 3-4 seconds.

If she sounds like she's getting close to starting, then she probably is...

Do everything again, pull the plugs, dry 'em off, blah blah...Inject a little more oil this time...

I've been through this 3 times in my life, so I've got it down to a science, lol...
