another idle issue on a fc3s pleeease help
Ok so my dad handed down his fc t2 to about a month ago (after 15 years of asking for it). It has the notorious idle issue. He gave me a FSM with it as well. So I went to work on it trying to work out the idle issues. I went down the troubleshooting checklist item by item. When i went to take off the TID i hear a crack sound. Sure enough it had a big crack in it so i figure that is prob the reason. So I went and had one made. it still isnt idleing properly. i have changed out numerous vaccum lines and still not runing properly. Is there a foolproof way of checking for vaccum leaks? Any help would be appreciated. only good thing that has come out of this so far is the turbo sound very nice with the new intake.

step 1) go to the auto parts store and get a can of carburetor cleaner
2) with the straw on the can spray all around the uim, lim, turbo intake duct and under the lim
3) wherever you are spraying and the idle smooths and rises you have a vacuum leak that needs to be fixed.
4) adjust the TPS to read 1 volt at the green wire off the connector
5) set the idle to below 1k RPMs
6) check and adjust the timing, the timing can only be properly set to base when the engine is running below 1k RPMs and timing DOES affect idle quality
