ok,well im planing on buying a 91 with about 150k on it,but he says thare are a few problems,,on happens to be that it apparently idles at 3k??? also the secondary fuel injectors are messed..also the brake booster is mangled(going/gone)

questions:

what could the idiling problem be?
how hard iss it to replace fuel injectors
how hard to replace brake booster!!!

 

The 3000 idle is hard to figure out. A lot depends on what the fellow did to the car to make it that way. It could be just a jammed throttle cable or it could be a stuck wide open bac. There should be a touch of slack in the throttle cable just before it attaches to the throttle bell crank. Idle the car and reach over and lift the inner cable up/down a touch. Say a 1/8 inch up/down. The idle should not increase if you do that. If the idle rises when you just barely touch the cable, then it's too tight and needs to have some slack put into it.

Download the factory service manual. It's online and free. Just the FUEL seciton will do. Find the BAC in the manual then go to the car and disconnect it's electrical plug. See if that helps.

Or he could have scewed in the throttle stop screw too far. See???? It's really too hard to tell without looking at the engine while it's running.
