another FC stalling thread

Once upon a time a couple weeks ago, I could turn my key to ON, hear my BAC clicking, jumper my initial set coupler and hear it stop clicking. Makes sense I think.

Now the other day I went to adjust my mixture via the FSM instructions. I warmed the car up, shut it off, turned the key to "ON," and installed the initial set coupler. The BAC went from clicking it's normal loud click to clicking a slightly muffled click. WTF?

So I'm like whatever and I continue. I adjust the TPS. Fine. Then I start the car with the ISC jumped and the thing idles all rough and wants to die if I take my foot off it. So I turn it off and get out and unscrew the BAC screw even more than it already is (it was pretty far out before.) This made it barely able to stay running, enough for me to get out with it running and adjust the screw some more. The BAC screw did virtually nothing. What did make it run sort of normally was adjusting the variable resistor to make it totally rich.

I shouldn't have to do that right? And the BAC screw should do something right?
