Exclamation Another FC Build?!!

Yo everybody this is FC_ken and uhh this is my first rebuild kinda..
So im starting off with some details…I picked up a shell that was wayy cleaner
than my old FC(frame damage) and it just needed some TLC…basically these are my plans:

-Clean the Shell
-Stop Rust!!!(everyone’s enemy)
-Five Lug conversion
-Remove old engine and do a deep cleannn.
-Paint engine bay
-Swap Engine/Trans/Brake system…
-Clean up Shocks and Springs
-Swap Interior/Salvageable exterior
-Perform a Major tune-up
-Convert to Power windows
-Paint exterior(rattle can job)
-PART OUT!!!!!!
-Save for a real paint job
-Keep car super clean…
-Save up for S5 conversion
-Eventually get some decent rims, coil overs, strut bars, some HID’s, a system, then when the engine finally gives out i'll go TII ftw!!!

Quite a list yes??? well unbeknownst to you all
I’ve already started a while ago…(oh snap )
I’ve gotten a few things done but hit some speed bumps along the way…
Fun stuff…can’t wait till this is done I miss the road.

Here are some picture’s from then up-until now-ish:

so i happened to pick her up from rowland heights...doesn't look like much now but she has potential, and ima bring it out!!!

me no likie the four lugs and ima clean these shocks and spring's...

peace out rusty parts

oh snap theres eibach's under all that dirt!!!!

.....after some intense cleaning and sanding, wahlahh!!!

Around the same time i worked on cleaning out the engine bay
and ridding the car of rust with some sanding and wire brushing
then i primer'd on the exposed area's and prep'd it for paint...

to be continueddd......

Nice touch with the shock tower accents in black. I always think production shuts down in winter, but you ******* have no winter . I flew into burbank last week to 87 degree weather. When i got on the plane at laguardia it was 10 degrees. I am jealous of your weather and engine bay.

Nice work on suspension too.

nice build, one thing though, why HID's? most inexpensive kits use non DOT legal lenses and don't have decent cutoff, Sylvania Silverstars are great bright and cheap.

depends on quality...a few of the vendors here sell motor mounts, but don't expect them to be $20 for the pair. spend a little more and get poly or solid motor mounts...

the only one's i can find are banzai racing's: http://www.banzai-racing.com/polyfc_motor_mounts.htm

http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=39-040A-FB01
~43 + shipping

fyi, if you do go the junk yard route, don't expect it to not break not too long down the road...it seems like the stock ones have a tendency to break easily under normal use

yes, there will be a little bit more vibration, but i think a newly rebuilt engine won't be as bad (as long as it's balanced decently), and i don't think it'll be bad to the point where it bugs you

but oh, i didn't realize they were 43 each :/ i bought the comp ones...i think, lol...i forget what all i've got now in my moneypit

i'd be all up on that!!!
