there is no such thing as a quiet single exhaust.

your best bet is to get matched dual mufflers, such as those RB sells.
it doesn't take much physics knowledge to understand that sound muffled through 2 canisters will be less than through 1.
however, i say MATCHED mufflers, since if you put on 2 universal mufflers or 2 mufflers meant to be singles, you may actually get resonances that will make it sound louder...

other than that, with a single if you are going for a straight through design muffler, then you will have to look at the rest of your exhaust system to help quiten things down...the RB presiliencer helps, but not that much...you may want to consider a high flow cat also.

im just lookin for somethin that wont rattle the fillings out of my teeth. id rather go with a single cat cause there a little cheaper. i guess ill have to deal with it. the corksport series, do there silencers really help them that much? are the silencers even worth buying.

yes, that should be quiet, but that is certainly not a straight through design.

Yes they do, but they do it by killing flow. If you want the sound and performance of a stock exhaust, leave the stock exhaust on, don't waste money on an aftermarket system with a plug up its ***. Save for a system that isn't excessively loud and still flows well (i.e. dual rear mufflers).

that pre silencer to dynomax will still be loud. . well if you're running a header with it it will be. I Had my car running header, cheapish $50 muffer, Y pipe to two glass packs . and it was loud as ****. I have the rb collected header. I also have a streetport though, but anyways there isn't much inbetween you either have good performance or you have quiet. Way out your priorities.

this is where its at...
aftermarket exhasut...no matter what anyone says
is louder than stock - period
thats why its there, if you want quiet while cruising and loud during hard driving then stock is where its at - bescause whether or not you realize it, your car with stock exhaust at 8500 rpm is ******* loud, at idle nice and mellow

I don't think he wants stock noise levels and I'm pretty sure he doesn't want stock performance. It's quite possible to have a free-flowing exhaust that has reasonable noise levels at low load, but a single exhaust is not the best way to get there.

i have a TRUST dual system i took off my 7 cause i went 3.15" single for performance
the dual i took off had the most beautiful tone to it just like you want quiet at low rpms but will flow for power
i am willing to sell it if you are interested

Like stated, a single exhaust will not get you where you want to be. If you want quiet at idle and you want to be noticed at upper RPM's, i'd reccomend the racing beat cat back. Typically anything with the racing beat header and presilencer is going to be very loud, except for the RB cat back. I ran a rb header to a presilencer to a single N1 Style muffler, and it sounded like a cessna... Too loud.. I switched to a dual magnaflow system, and it's still way too loud.. You aren't going to find many systems for the N/A that are quiet and still offer good performance other than stock.. I'd put a vote in for the racing beat cat back..

its going out to dual 3.15 inch exhaust system, the actual ****** y pipe is 3.15, it doesnt narrow down to 2.5 or some **** like that. also im turbo, so im a lot more quiet

I've got a Borla cat-back on my car and the noise isn't that bad at all. I do have stock piping leading up to it however, but still. At idle its nice and quiet but when you really get on it, the exhaust gets nice and loud.
