another 2gen parts selling nightmare for me...

I swear if this bullshit keeps up Im gonna quit selling used parts altogether. I put stuff up for sale on ebay and have to put up with the *dumbest* questions, and then you get people like this:

"Hi,
looking for a spoiler for a 1990 rx-7 any color, if you have please email picture and send price with postage, my zip # is 96737 thank you "

(NEXT EMAIL)

RE: I have one in black from a 90 t2 for $XX plus shipping. ON the USPS website it says about 30 bucks for priority shipment to you, and UPS is about double that since ground service is not offered for you

(NEXT EMAIL)

"Thanks for quick come back, I'm not sure what an t2 is,

RE: new to 7's then? turbo II, the 2nd generation top model with turbo engine

would there any chance for a scan/ picture on this spoiler...

RE: dont have any of this particular one but attatched is a pic of the style, it is a stock 2nd gen spoiler.

the color is perfect just need to be sure!!, if not maybe you could describe it for me? to me it not a high wing, it just go's around the back and is low and has no opening in it......as you can see I have no idea of what I'm talking about!!! also there are few other thing I need that maybe you can help me with that we can get in the same package. thanks again "

(NEXT EMAIL)

"That's the one" ...also looking for the (top pulley), the one that you can adjust on the power steering just thought you would have one,

RE: I have some of the whole brackets, so yeah I got that, you can have it just put a reminder in with your payment.

would like to use paypal for payment,

RE: so would i...

also on the back window the rubber molding that go's around window at the bottom there a small plastic connector that Joins the rubber together it would great if you had it..

RE: well I do but I wouldnt take it off a good hatch. FWIW most glass installtion places should have that its just a universal seal splice...

. there is just no way to get this kind of stuff, if no, maybe know were I can find it. let me know and email with payment info

RE: my paypal account is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx once payment is recieved Ill ship the following day

(NEXT EMAIL)

"Hi again,
what about the other stuff I ask about? and dose the spoiler comes with the feasters? my old one's are rusted out. get back to me on this when get time. thanks"

(NEXT EMAIL)

RE: What other stuff?? Youll have to excuse me, but you gotta realixe I answer about 50 questions just like this every day, so you need to include all past details in each email. I see below where you said you might have other things to ask about, but you never did...

(NOTE MY TYPO IN THE ABOVE REPLY)
(NEXT EMAIL)

"Your just not reading all your/the email, your the one that's need to RELAX I did not ask you to do this job, I do a lot then 50 email every day!!!... and you don't see me crying about it.....I said in my last email to take your time!! I was not in a hurry....to bad about the spoiler I sure could of used it and it would of bin perfect ...just not sure what your up to!!! there's lot's of RX-7 stuff out there I'll find what I'm looking for sooner or later, you must have a lot's of money to go around telling people to relax... I'm the one that lives HAWAII.....did you every hear about losing the arguments and getting the money!!!! see ya... "

Wait a minute, hold the **** up! Where did that come from!?!?!?

(MY REPLY)

Your just not reading all your/the email,

RE: IF that's the case then where below is there any description of what "other parts" you wanted?

your the one that's need to RELAX

RE: IM perfectly so...youre the one hitting his caps lock :-)

I did not ask you to do this job,

RE: no, but you asked for my parts.

I do a lot then 50 email every day!!!...

RE: good for you. you probably get paid to do so...most people just wanna BS all day with me. "Well, I was just checking in on the cost of this, and maybe later Ill decide what I want do to. Hey, do you ever get any mint condition 1991 turbo II's in that youd like to get rid of, cause Im wanting to find one real cheap..."

and you don't see me crying about it.....

RE: who is crying. I just cant remember what 5 bits and pieces joe blow wanted 5 emails ago versus the 3 that jane doe wanted yesterday...then when you write back and ask me about the other parts, Im like what other damn parts? then I read the few original messages below and see no other parts besides a wing and p/s pulley, and now I get bitched at for asking for clarification?

I said in my last email to take your time!!

RE: wel I usually read email every few hours. Is there a problem with that? most people dont complain...

I was not in a hurry....to bad about the spoiler I sure could of used it and it would of bin perfect ...

RE: uh...?

just not sure what your up to!!!

RE: you're shittin me right? whatever...

there's lot's of RX-7 stuff out there I'll find what I'm looking for sooner or later,

RE: yeah there are plenty of sellers, some more expensive than myself, and few with the selection or willingness to help.

you must have a lot's of money to go around telling people to relax...

RE: now its time for you to HOLD UP. I think you need to go read again. I NEVER said to relax...I said (in a TYPO) to "realixe" when I was trying to type "realize". I said "you gotta REALIZE that I answer about 50 emails a day" meaning that I could not remember every little detail of every transaction. Sorry for the confusion, and if you want to use that as an excuse not to buy what you want, then you go right ahead.

RE: I dont have "a lot of money" but Im also not an *** kisser. I dont mind being honest, helpful, even cutting someone a deal, but Ill be damned if Ill beg for business.

I'm the one that lives HAWAII.....

RE: and that has to do with what?

did you every hear about losing the arguments and getting the money!!!!

RE: who knew there was an argument? how childish... I can get money other ways. It isnt all about the money. ITs about doing business, helping out people, advancement of the cause, and childishness has to do with none of that.

see ya...

RE: ...whatever. Go back and read it again, this time sober. Sure I made a typing mistake, but for you to come at me like this after I tried to help you? You just dont know what an *** you made of yourself."

Man.. I SOOO feel for you.

Dealing with idiots on a hourly basis is one of the major reasons I decided to sell ThePartsTrader.

I delt with it in volume.. some days it would take over 10 minutes to download my email (over a cable connection). Those days it was usually because some goob scanned pictures of cars out of a magazine (Can you guess which ones?) and wanted to know if he could buy the same (spoiler/body kit/ turbo/ you name it) in the pictures for his GEO(or whatever lame car). I guess the site was not obvious enough that it was a classified ads page and people were confused about what product lines we carried... hehheeh

I have actually thought about writing a book about internet idiots, too bad I lost 4 years of email archives due to a HD failure... I could of written an entire chapter about the guy that expected the ALL websites to be completely free because he was already paying AOL 19.00 a month!

Anyway... welcome to dealing with people over the internet. It will drive you to drinking.

I run a speedshop you would not believe the questions I have to awnser on a daily basis. Here are just a couple off the top of my head- Do you need to have a turbo to get a blow off valve? How much HP will this xx intake give my Civic(replies to awnser with 200+$ for a few HP **** that!!) Why cant you get bodykits prepainted? Will I get ticketed for having an aftermarket exhaust? Are blue strobe lights illegal? I could go on all night. Its all part of the game. reallistically not evryone is as into cars as you and I. People i nearly all industries deal with the same sort of ignorance. Ignorance(IMO) is acceptable its the lack of common sense and stupidity that wears on me, what ever happened to thinking of the awnser before asking the question?

Oh I have absolutely NO problem with answering questions about cars, rotaries, turbos, 7's or whatever all day long. I have a problem with the attitude that was directed at me after I spent several days worth of emails back and forth answering questions. It'd be like goin on a blind date and askin the girl all about herself then telling her to **** off...you just dont do it if youre a decent human. Knowledge of the technical aspect has nothing to do with it, but intelligence in life does.

Now the dumbfuck questions all come from ebay for some reason. People must log onto that site and check their brains at the door or something. I had this long drawn out discussion with one guy over an auction I had up for an s4 tail light. The title read somethign like "rx7 rx-7 FC drivers side tail light round". Now those of us familiar with ebay selling practices know that its common to place keywords in titles to trigger with searches for items that normally would not trigger your auction. The description clearly stated that it was a tail from an 86-88, rectangular, and showed a clear picture of a tail light for s4.

So this guy is really confused. He wants to know if I have the other round tail light, and why the picture I have up looks like a square one. I write back and explain that the title of an auction is not always a reflection of exactly what is being sold, and that you must always rely on the pictures and description. I confirm that it is a s4 tail, but that I have 2 seperate sets of s5 tails available if he'd liek to buy them outright. HE writes back in a state of further confusion, quoting my title again, including a picture of a round tail light, and stating again that the pictur in my auction looks like the older s4 tail light.

By now I have had enough, so I decide to do an illustration. I go to ebay and search for "Sony cd". I pick out a few titles: Nakamichi amp blah blah pioneer sony, another for Pioneer cd kenwood jvc etc and so on. I then paste these into the email along with an explanation of how I got to them. I then included links to them and explained that even though sony brandname was in teh title, they were selling nothing to do with sony, and that the description and pictures revealed what was actually being sold. I then illustrated to him that since I searched for SONY cd and pulled up auctions of other brand names, I might spot a good deal and buy that instead, which is why titles are tagged like that in the first place.

You're just a bad seller! Speaking of which, it's been a long time since I forked over money to you, got a parts list I can scrounge through and see if you have anything I need?

I can relate to this....the best one ive heard is the day i was at my buddys shop....kid walks in and sees us around the dyno....he asks "whats that"....we explain to him what it does his next question "about how much for one" we tell him....heres where i lost it....."can you have one at your house".....i had to walk away cuz i was jus about to bust out laughin in his face. Ignorance is truely sad sometimes makes u really wonder what they r teachin in schools these days.

Hyp, I was wondering how much you would charge for the little plastic thingy that holds the plastic thingy onto the firewall? Does that come in silver? BTW, when you send that, please pay me via paypal and throw in an extra set of those shiny rotary pistons. Thank you.

Amen. I work in the tech industry, at one job I do tech support, and at another I do onsite support. I see the best and worst of all people, and the nature of cars to computers is very close, if not the same when it comes to "user" questions. Sometimes, when I give an answer, somebody out there wants to second guess me. To which I reply everytime, and not in a sarcastic or rude manner, "If you're not happy with the estimate/quote/resolution I gave you, just remember who called who looking for help. If you think you can fix it yourself, go right ahead, but if you wanna do it the right way then listen to what I'm telling you".

90% of the time this shuts them up and gets them into listening mode, and not so much of a "everything you tell me is wrong, even tho you are smarter then me on this subject, and that's the reason I'm calling you."

Wow.. Are you implying that running ThePartsTrader is an indication of higher intelligence? Far from the truth. It is an indication of the insanity caused by staring at a computer screen for 14 hours a day.

I have been a certifiable rotorhead for many years. I have owned 9 different Rx-7's in the past 9 years ( have 4 now ). All but 2 of them where FC's. Because of the amount of time I spent on ThePartsTrader I was not very active in the online RX-7 community so very few people know.

Yo,

So what was your other "selling nightmare"? Are you refering to:

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=123808

If so, that was a "buying nightmare" for Nismo180SX, not a "selling nightmare" for you. You got off easy by sending him those thin rotors.

People are stupid, if you dont like it get out of the sales industry. Personally, I find it hilarious to deal with some people. Their stupidity always amazes me
