MO Annoying beeping wont turn off...

So, yeah got this annoying steady beep in my 86. Cannot make it go off and it's always beeping no matter what... Door open, door closed, seat belt buckled, I don't know...

Any ideas?!

there are different things which can cause this. For now jiggle the key to see if you can interrupt the beep as there is a sensor in the ignition lock to activate the beeping device.

Ok next time I'm out there messing with it I'll try that. Also this been only comes on with the car running or ignition on, which I'm sure you knew.

Mine does that too, but it occasionally stops and occasionally devolves into a garbled buzzing (it's more complex than a buzz, but I don't know how else to describe it). J9(letters and numbers here) and I have been chatting via PM about that and myriad other things, and his suggestion is the CPU is crapping out. Mine will occasionally act like it's supposed to (aka stop beeping), and it seems to be tied to the drivers door more than anything. I've been actuating the door switch and turning the key off and on to get it to stop. Sometime soon I'll be tackling the non-essential electric foibles, and that's on the list.
