When ever you are in doubt, put in about 3 quarts, then check the dip stick, and add 1/2 quart at a time until it reaches the full mark. Also, the quanities for all the systems can be found in the following books:

Owners manual

Haynes manual

Factory service manual.

I usually put about 4 quarts in mine (NA) if it's cold, 4.5-5 if I warm the oil up first.

You need to find out where all that oil is going and fix it, fast. The only way you should be using that much oil is if you are driving 3k a week, at a minumum.

If you are just changing your oil as regular using the drain plug on the oil pan... you will probably only need to use 4-4.5quarts of oil...

BTw i generally put in about 4.75 quarts and the cooler holds about 1.5 -2 quarts

4.5 here also.

Im wondering, would it be beneficial to drain the oil cooler as well when draining the oil pan? This way, it gets most all the dirtly oil out?

good point!, so if you have blown oil seals, can you still run the car hard? im guessing you would just need to fill up oil sooner then usual.

i do a regular drain and always use 5 quarts and it hits it right on the spot when i check the dipstick. this could also be due to those "easy grab" 5 quart oil jugs being rip off's tho....

The easiest way to check how much you truly need is to drain, take off filter, start the engine momentarily, then do that until it wont start anymore, then fill her up. A guy at our shop put 16 gallons in our drill rig, that only holds 4 gallons, when he realized he hadn't put the drain plug back in. So see, It could take a lot more than anyone realizes. Remember the SPILL factor.
