Am I getting shafted on Clutch Repairs?

About three months ago I had clutch problems. I took it
to a shop near the house and he gave me a bill that said,
replaced Master & Slave Cylinder. Now 3000 miles later,
I'm having simular problems and he say's I'm going to need
a new clutch and estimated 400.00 - 600.00.

I'm thinking, why didn't he do the whole job the 1st time
& also can't he use the new Slave & Master Cylinder that
he put in 3000 miles ago.

Sorry about the ignorance

I read the FSM and answered my own question. I see
that the Master & Slave are not part of the Inner Clutch
but are exterior Hydrolics. At least that's what I think.

Next time I'll read first!

It would be recomended to get a better/upgraded clutch since you are gonna need to replace it and try to save yourself some money by doing it yourself or with someone who knows what they are doing.

Agreed. A clutch job really isnt hard at all. A stock replacement clutch should be around $150-$200. Something good aftermarket will cost close twice that, but doing it yourself would save alot of money also. And you are correct about the clutch master and slave cyliners being external. The clutch master cylinder is the thing under the brake master cylinder that looks like a mini-master cylinder, and the slave cylinder is on the tranny and pushed the clutch fork in and out to engage and release the clutch.
