Am I asking too much for my FC??

Heres my for sale post...

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=135825

Now I know that you can pick up N/A FCs for $1500 or less, but they are in nowhere near as good condition as mine is. Is it just that people on this forum arent willing to pay that much....or am I asking too much? I've had little to no interest since I posted it up for sale. I paid $2600 for the car when I bought it, and it had bald tires, a rotted through stock exhaust system, and Ive since replaced many things, as well as performance mods. I dont think $3000 OBO is unreasonable, but I wanted all of your opinions..
Thanks

If the car is nice, you might get 3k, but I wouldn't say
it was a bargain price. Winter is not a good time to sell,
wait for spring.

if you live in snow country,
you're better off waiting until spring assuming you are still driving it and not paying insurance for nothing.

Well my FC is in the garage now for the winter, under its nice padded cover I know that winter isnt the best time to try and sell a sports car, but I kind of need to sell ASAP, and Im affraid I may have to accept less money than I want to... I just wanted to know if my price was in fact unreasonable.....I didnt think so.

Yes, but people tend to pay more for a S5 over a S4. Thanks for the encouragement though....

Hmmm...

$3000 seems like a lot for 123k. Sure its got mods, but nothing extraordinary.

For reference, I paid $2800 for a 88 T2 with 129k so maybe Im a cheapass!

eventually you'll find someone who wants it bad enough to pay for it, and then you'll both be happy, especially if it's in as good of condition that you say it is

Yeah, a bit high for this time of year... I'd say $2000 to $2500 if it was in really great condition (particularly the interior).

Spring you might be able to get more than $2000-$2500

I don't like to "low ball" people but I know what certain cars can be had for. I bought my TII with no body damage and a good interior for $1400. I bought my NA for $1500 when I didn't know where to find one, so I bought the first one I saw. People just don't like to go spend $3000 on a car to see someone else who got basically the same thing for $1200 or so. If you want $3000 then stick to the price. If you want to sell it quick drop the price to like $2000 maybe. Main problem I see is that its the original engine with 123k on it as far as we/you know.

It sounds like it's worth $2,500 +/- $500, so $3000 OBO is exactly what I would ask if I were selling it. I think that $2,500 is a good deal if the new clutch and pressure plate are included. The tires are a huge plus which most people seem to overlook. Yes, the engine is probably about to go, but it seems like you have just about everything else taken care of. Granted, that's just my opinion based on what those mods would be worth to me without actually seeing the car, while others may have a different view. Blue Book is about $2K.

BTW, whenever you put a 2Gen up for sale, be sure to state that it's a 5-speed, as the automatic transmission models may as well be infected with the Ebola virus for all they are worth. Also be sure to mention if it has an aluminum hood, which is worth $250 alone if in good shape.

Well it doesnt have an aluminum hood, but i do have one that is almost prepped for paint that I'd include And I woundt call 123K on a N/A "about to go", but i suppose I should get a compression check to confirm.
