"Aluminum" exhaust/intercooler tubing for polishing:
I'm going to be using the pre-bent exhaust tubing as an air intake as well as the intercooler piping. I'm gonna connect them w/ the silicone connectors.
I know that i want "aluminum" exhaust tubing, however at first glance the only thing i have found is "aluminIZED" steel tubing.
Is this the stuff i'm looking for? Or am I looking strictly for aluminum tubing? I'm going to polish to a mirror shine and use some silicone connectors.
Thanks!

aluminized steel tubing is different from alluminum. it has an alluminumn coating over the steel ( I think) to keep it from rusting or something. I don't think they make any pure alluminum exhaust tubing.
BTW, where are you getting the silicone hose? I need some for my $17 FMIC project . oh, and how much does that stuff cost?

So it sounds kinda like the aluminum coated stuff is what i want.... you can polish it w/o going through the aluminum maybe?
Well i know there are some places online, but they make "kits" for hondohs and ****, so they cost hella money.
I was talking with a buddy online and he said go to pep boys or something, get the silicone connectors, and then buy the screw down brackets to go over them! thats all there is to it.
He says that you can just use silicone to connect everything, even go right up to the turbo! This is a bonus, will make my FMIC project MUCH easier.

Here is what i'm looking at:
http://www.jcwhitney.com/product.jht...=14721&BQ=jcw2
Looks like they might have pre-flared ends, however i'm going to be cutting those off to get them down to size....

there is no such thing as alum exhuast piping.
you can buy alum. piping. but expect around $40 for a bend. and the legs are only 4" long... SS isn't much cheaper. so you're gona spend a few hundred bucks on piping easy.

silicon connectors run around $30 a foot or so. 3" or so a connection. for the turbo pipes you will want to flare them. good luck finding a shop that can. won't be easy.
here is a "beeded" pipe
I just used the alum / steel pipes that you are looking at. much much cheaper. I would recommand geting them welded together though and have as few silicone connections as possible.

It can be an expensive undertaking. In your area there is bound to be an industrial area, start calling places around there, often you can find a place that uses SS pipe and has a scrap pile they might let you rummage through for a couple bucks. Silicone connectors are not cheap, and an exhuast shop should be able to put a bead in the pipe for not that much coin.
