Arrow alternator went bad

Hi pplz I have another big problem. Last Thursday I was driving my car and then all of a sudden, my lights inside were dim and then my car starter jerking and then it turned off. So I was guessing the alternator was bad cuz I tried jumping it and it would only stay on if my jumper cables are still attached and once I take it off it would drain the battery first and then turns off. So the next day I got my self an alternator. It worked fine but after 5 min I saw a smoke coming out of the hood so I turned off the car and notice that the ground wire in the alternator, the connector was loose so it fried my alternator. So good thing I have a warranty on the alternator so I got another one. I put it on and made sure the ground wire was real tight and secure and then I started up. My car lasted for 5 minutes again and then that was it. It turned off agen. The alternator went bad agen. So what should I do pplz. My car is park somewhere out there and I’m afraid its going to get towed lol I don’t know what to do pls help!

have someone with AAA ride with you to the car, then call for a tow.

just get a new battery........you could try charging it and see if it works, but chances are that the battery was already pooched which put so much load on the original alt. that it burnt it out.

When you install a new alt, you need to make sure the battery is fully charged. If it isn't it can over-stress the new alt and burn it out. I would go ahead and get the battery tested and replaced if needed, then replace the alt. I've found that sometimes if you truly drain the crap out of your battery (like if the alt goes out or a spark plug wire grounds on the body) the battery doesn't revover. This has happened on my rx-7 and on my wife's car.

There could be parasitic loss somewhere. Check all the connections to make sure your not grounding out somewhere

you need to check the output voltage at the alternator under different load conditions. make sure you have a new battery as well. also check the voltage at the battery when the engine is running and when it isn't.
