Alternator and Starter

Where can I buy a refurbed alternator and starter. How would I check the alternator to see if it is defective? I know my starter is defective and i think the alty is on its way out (110K miles).

I would highly recommend you go to the Mazda dealer for this.&nbsp Rebuilt units from the local auto parts chains are CRAP.&nbsp Even with "lifetime warranties", they are not worth the headaches.&nbsp I've never had problems with remans from the Mazda dealer - even though a little more expensive, it's worth the peace of mind...

To test alternator start car disconnect battery + cable

car still running = good alt

Also if your lights flicker your alt might be going

Put a voltmeter over the battery terminals. It should be ~12V with the ignition off and at least 14V with the engine running.
