Alternator Rebuild Kit

My windows are getting slow and my lights are not quite as bright as they used to be. So after 200K, I think I should rebuild my alternator.

Anyone know of someone that sells a rebuild kit?

usually its just the brushes inside the alternator.. I'm sure you could go down to your local parts store and order some up...

Well the alternator rebuild shops charge me 50$ to sand blast the alt, replace the brushes and bearing.. 50$ Canadian... can't go wrong with that. And the alt shops gotta get the brushes from somewhere!!

i dunno about our cars specifically but every car store like canadian tire, pep boys, or wutever is around your house should sell an alternator kit. i dunno if they are car specific or what. but how different can alternators be?

EDIT: alternator rebuild kit not alternator kit

If anyone knows the brush/bearing/spring ID numbers, I guess the parts could easily be found. But like most things, you just have to know what you are looking for.

I guess I could get these numbers if I first opened the alternator to seach...

But at this time, it is still on the car. So, again, if anyone knows of a kit, or the numbers, it would be good to have them.
