Alternator/ Air Pumps
At some point I'll be putting an electric fan in my TII, and I've also been toying around with the idea of replacing the air pump with a Corvette electric air pump. I've heard of other people putting in one of these after removing their air pump, and then having to pass emissions. It seems like it would free up a little power, and clean up the engine bay a bit.
But if I'm going to do both I'm a little concerned about straining my Alt. Would the stock 88 alt be able to handle this set up? (I'm not sure about the draw of the electric air pump) and if not, what kind of upgrades am I looking at?

Check out www.egrproducts.com They might be able to add a little more amps to the stock one. I was in search of high amp one (180+) and they found one from a ford contour. It ended up being 200 amps and it fit perfectly. Just had to make another "arm", the one that the alternator slides up and down on.
