alternator

hi, i took out my alternator to replace a coolant hose and when I tried to put it back on something was weird.
Is it supposed to be fitting tight there? (check pic, not my car)
The alternator seems too big and there is space in the front.
Not sure if you get what I say...

well you know the part where you adjust the height of the alt?
I put the alternator part in front of it so it actually keeps the alt steady.

Guess that my belt now isnt straight.
Think I can go to school tomorrow, or should I not drive the car?

Not unless you want to shred a belt.
