alternative fixes for the diff. mount?

i got a replacement front differential mount a while ago, but due to lots of things getting in the way, i haven't been able to replace it. now the weather's horrible and i'm about to go back to school and i wondered if there are any alternative fixes out there that don't involve dropping the rear.

what i was thinking was along the lines of epoxying the surfaces of the mount back together (while still under the car), something that should be fairly easy. after looking at the new mount it seems as if it was something like that that held the rubber shock absorber to the metal pieces in the first place. in mine, the rubber peeled away from the metal, so i was wondering if something (jb weld?) could be strong enough to hold it until summer under moderate driving conditions? any experience or predictions?

just replace it or have someone with a garage or connections do it for you, the best way to fix it is to fix it right!

i can get a place where i can do it, it's just going to be hard before summer. i'm just looking for a temp fix, nothing permanent. after three months, the clunking gets to you...

if you don't fix it right its gonna get even worse. it might even mess your chassy up severely along with your drivetrain. epoxy will just break in a few days if not hours. if u really neglect it you might even break you crossmember bracket where the differential mount is mounted on.

this happened to me and its a pain in the *** to fix. so do yourself a favor and save yourself some money in the long run and keep your car from getting severely messed up, you'll thank yourself. Don't ruin your car over a $100 piece

i've got the piece, there just won't likely be an opportunity to put it on for two months or so...i drive it really easy because of that, so it shouldn't be that damaging. what exactly happened to your car?

i got a new clutch, and i guess whoever had this car before me abused it, that or it was just age and bad luck i guess. i did a launch racing a camaro and **THUNK** it snapped... i welded the bracket and was cool.

didn't feel peace of mind driving around in a mended crossmember though so i went to the junkyard and saw a TII stripped down, but it still had this part, bought it for like $20 and put it on with the help of a friend.

the weld were still together when i took it off, but as soon as i set it down GENTLY..... the f*cker snapped again, i was like WHOAAAA ..... good thing i changed it.

i was riding around with the clunking for like 3 months .... not good. i even changed the diff mount w/a competition mount from mazdatrix since that part was goig to be out. 2 birds w/1 stone kind of a thing. otherwise i would have to pay or take down my rear end again.... might as well. this car has taught me to fix things that are prone to break before they do, or when they seem like they are about to.
