You've a series five car.

Series five alternator wires connect as shown in the attached jpg.

You described a series four alternator jack.

Somethings amiss.

The wire that is White with a Black stripe, goes to the vertical.

The wire that is White/Blue ain't a gonna get used at all.

Run a NEW wire from a source of switched power. Switched power being power that comes and goes with the ignition switch.

There is a GREEN six socket connector near the LEAD coil assy. It has a black/white wire in it. That is a switched source of power. Run a new wire from there to the horizonal post in the alternator jack.

The White/Blue wire that your not to use, has voltage on it alllllll daaaaay loooooong. Not to be used on a series four alternator. Done.

ok so i am wiring up my s5 alternator to a s5 harness in an s4 car so in the first attached pic the wire that goes into the dash out of the s5 alternator is that switched power or does it just go to the volt meter?

well ty HAILERS! I am NOT trying to question your knowledge, i only asked for confirmation from someone else because i obviously havn't the slightest clue about this little problem. The PO also didnt and when i got the car it had both hooked up to the s4 alt. So my next ? is if this alt was hooked up wrong what would it fry??? just a fuse or something more major? Your help is greatly appreciated.
