I believe the 89-91 was rated slightly higher than the 86-88 and is a direct bolt on as well. Only problem you might come across is the terminal post. It needs to be horizontal for a turbo car (to clear the intercooler) and I'm pretty sure they're vertical for the non turbo cars (easier access).
