if you really want to lose some weight then lose some weight, literally. Get your *** on a diet and hit up the treadmill... best way to lighten your car.

Yes. It's a 3qt manual. I use it every time before I start the car to pre-oil the motor and it also came in handy not too long ago when I had an oil pressure gauge fitting break while on track. I keep it at 80PSI when the motor is off. It's plumbed with -10AN line off the oil cooler return line with a check valve, the manual valve is by the shifter and you can see where the reservoir is. I would have put it in the passenger compartment but between the fire system bottle, ballast and cool suit ice chest there was no room.

Just how heavy are the stock seats?... I thought they were light but I guess looks can be decieving... I was just gonna get them reupholstered... but i guess I'll just get some lighter seats.

dont forget the rear winsheild wiper, wiper motor and resevoir... all together another 5 lbs plus you get rid of the turbulence the rear windsheild wiper creates.

When you guys get really ganagsta... put driving lights into the FTP's and get rid of the entire headlight assembly/motors.

I'm seriously thinking abount getting rid of the entire sunroof assembly and just bolting some lexan to the roof but I kinda like the idea of having atop I can open... and ideas how much that assembly weighs? If its more than 20 lbs I''m going for it.

Have you guys ever realized how heavy the glove box door is?

What kinda weight is there under the car to get rid of? My car is too low for my jack to get under... gotta get on of those low profile jacks.... or maybe some ramps.
EPIC WEIGHT TUNING!!!!!

I don't know exactly, they just feel heavy. Maybe 35 LBs? To me that's rather heavy as I'm comparing them to the seats in my Insight which actually weigh nothing. Seriously, the need to be bolted down so they don't float away (actually they weigh about 10-12 LBs).

Yeah cuz the insight seats could hold my fat *** as I'm pullin 1.2 g's in a corner... HA

so you think I can get 25 lbs reduction per seat? impressive... maybe after I address my sunroof issues I'll get on to getting some lighter seats... any suggestions as to reclinable race seats that are okay for semi (weekly) driven cars?

Maybe some people like driving around in a tin can, but I'll never get it. I'll sacrifice the 50 LBs to keep the interior of the car not looking like something I pulled from a scrap yard...

The stock seats are pretty heavy. I have no clue on the actual weight, but they're probably around what Aaron guesstimated.

My stock seats also comfortable and adjusts...

I just don't see the point for a mostly street driven vehicle. If it's solely a fun car, sure, go for it. Personally, my car is a fun car, but I'm looking to add cruise control, get my A/C working, get some speakers, etc. Going .4 faster in the 1/4 mile is nice and stuff, but I'd rather be comfortable doing it.

With added bolstering I think you would be surprised. The Insight's seats are lighter then most "racing" seats out there.

It doesn't seem hard to probably lose 20 pounds per seat. Even the made in China seats seem to be lighter.

Drove this car for a few months before taking the motor out and putting it in another car. Was very fast, but not much for amenities.

Thats not an option for everyone haha. If i lost any weight at all I'd be so skinny I'd fly all over the driver seat.

I currently weigh 125. So losing some weight Isn't in the cards for me haha.
