Almost found out the hard way about driving in the rain with RWD
Yeah,
I was on my way to a friend's house today. It was raining a little. I had a green light and was going to turn right. Moved into turn lane and put the clutch in. Didn't brake alot because the turn is somewhat banked in my favor and not 90 degrees. Let the clutch out in 3rd midway through the turn and started spinning. Luckily the road is three lanes and I ended up spinning 180 degrees and ended up in the middle lane facing the other direction. I just sat there for like 10 seconds. Anyways, I was lucky I didn't slide into the row of cars waiting to turn left. I was about 3 feet away. Only one car turned right from where I had been a few seconds earlier and went around me. I had to do a 3-point turn though and get back going the right direction. I'll be a heck of alot more careful from now on that's for sure...

Ha ha way to go. I did that on an icy road once and the guy behind me went right around me, looking at me like "you youngster"
Time to go out and practice driving with the rear end spinning and sliding around. I drift unintentionally all the time here in Oregon where it rains more often than not.

I did the same thing when I first got my Rx, I was comming out of school when it happened, busted a 180. Now when I make the same turn and the rear comes out I can control it. I love that feeling.

It'll teach you about dealing with turns/corners, if you're interested.
And, yeah, if the pavement isn't dry then drive your 7 like a little old lady and you won't have anything to worry about.

+1 no shifting in corners. Your foot should be off the clutch while turning. Either downshift before, or after (less preferable). You can leave the rev matching and heel and toeing after you're comfortable with the basics (although you can learn rev matching at the same time).

I remember something like that happening to me, but it was because of my bald tires lol.
its all about smoothness in the rain. Though for me atleast, in the snow, I dont drive that smooth, helps getting out of snow pockets, and momentum.
When I turn in the snow, I modulate the throttle unlike when I drive in the rain.

i live on a dirt road. and holy crap! it is so much fun to sling the rear end out in the dirt. it is a lot easier to control it in the dirt though cause when i tried it on the road i just spun out..... still fun though.
