I was just driving normally last night when all of a sudden every light [except the seatbelt light] turned on in the warning cluster. The car seemed to still drive fine, no strange smells. I shut off the car completely, started back up again, but all the same lights were on. I did notice that my lights and everything illuminated in the interior seemed dull and not as bright. Also, when I started the car, the RPMS wanted to stay around 2000, and when driving, when switching gears, the RPMS would fall very slowly and I had to wait much longer to shift into the next gear...

Anyone know what could be up with my 7? I tried switching in another fuel computer, and that didn't work either... and it's an '86 GXL.

That's exactly what I thought... I checked the belt and it was fine, but I think that the alternator might be gone. Is there any way for me to check that? Also, why would it be idling and driving funny if the alternator blew out? Thanks for your help.
